2021 has been a quiet year. We have been hiding a bit to avoid the C…..
We are mostly at home, in the mild season often on the porch or in the garden. The rest of the year, Annette is on the ground floor and Peter in the workshop below. We meet now and again during the day to exchange wise thoughts that we have fostered in the meantime.
Peters guitar shop is doing fine at the usual level between hobby and real business. Many musicians prefer slightly older guitars and fortunately they play so much that the instruments need to be adjusted or repaired every now and then. It fits right into Peter's small business.
When we see others it is mostly our children and grandchildren as well as Annette's mother. In fact, we are pretty good at lounging around in our homes.
Our kids and grandchildren are all doing well, all busy in school or jobs. Peters daughter Anna-Lucie gave birth to Laura three month ago. In May Christoffer and Lucie bought a nice terraced house in Brede, not far from us. By now we have nine grandchildren, age from 0 to 16 years old.
Annettes son Nikolaj has just been offered a permanent job at Novo Nordisk (pharmaceutical company) after working there on a one year contract. We see him quite often as he also live close to our place.
Annettes son in law Jacob has just started as a medical doctor on a private hospital here in Kongens Lyngby.
Our trips during 2021 have all been to places in Denmark in the low season, when there were no tourists around. It turned out to be a really good idea, as people were much more keen to talk and help us with ideas about what to do and see. All this without visiting a tourist office.
We went to Svendborg on Fyn, where we stayed at a luxury hotel room where Elvira Madigan and Sixten Sparre lived before they shot themselves (A true story from 1889). You may have seen the old Swedish movie “Elvira Madigan” by Bo Widerberg. He used Mozart music - Piano concerto No 21 in the movie. (This is why many scandinavians call Mozart No 21 Elvira Madigan.)
As Earlier we borrowed Annettes brothers nice summerhouse on the island Fanø for a week. Also out of season.
We spent Christmas Evening at Marie (Annettes daughter) and Jacobs place with grandchildren and Annettes mum, who is now 95.
We celebrated New Years Eve with our friends Karin and Bertil. 12’oclock we could also celebrate the sale of their 125 year old schooner Johanne. After 33 years of sailing Johanne, they now retire.

We hope for a good 2022, with less Corona or other issues.

We could not make an indoor visit in Brede due to Corona, so Claras Christmas
presents were opened outdoors on the 24. of december.
